Man seated, awaiting his appointment in a waiting room.

YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT: ARE YOU READY?

As I look back in time, there is a day that is memorable to me. As we go through life, we would have different experiences that leave an indelible mark and memory. Some are pleasant and others unpleasant.

I can remember, an unpleasant memory that left me shaken for a long time. That day was like every other day, except that it ended differently than expected. On that fateful day, one of my childhood friends woke up and went to work. At the close of work, she went to bed and never woke up again.

When I heard the news, it was a shocker. I thought to myself; “No way!!!! This can’t be happening.” We are about the same age, we still have a long list of dreams and plans in front of us.
How can a young and vibrant lady who was not sick, sleep and not wake up? “This has to be a horrible nightmare”. Maybe I will wake up to hear that it never happened.

My mind flashed back to our last time together. We had talked and laughed. It was a carefree conversation where we talked, recounting a lot of funny incidents and memories. I never knew that would be the last time I would see her alive. But she is gone and gone forever.

Everyone has an appointment at the end of life. No one will live forever. The fact is; “And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9: 27).
No one knows when it will be their time. No one has any idea when they will breathe their last. There is no age limit, no gender bias, no status restrictions, it is an inevitable appointment. After death, you will come face to face with your creator and account for the life you lived here on earth.

There is a catch. Guess what? Jesus Christ died for you so that we can live eternally.
He said; “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10: 10).

The price for your redemption has been paid. You can make the switch today, from eternal damnation to eternal life.
There is no need for you to keep struggling with shame, guilt, and sin. You don’t have to do it alone. The promise has been fulfilled; “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1: 21).

If you have decided to give your life to Christ; Tell the Lord that you are sorry for your sins. Ask for pardon and accept Him into your heart.

Now that you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior there is no need to be afraid of death or the final appointment. You can rejoice because of the new life in Christ here on earth and in eternity. God bless you.
