RUN FOR YOUR LIFE #HisLoveAndLife
Reflecting on my life as a kid, I remember that we had some near disasters. In retrospect, I now understand the gravity of those dicey situations.
Years ago, the boiling ring was a common household item for kitchen use. Now electric jugs and kettles are a thing and at least they can trip off on their own when the water boils. Thank God that technology has upgraded some of these items to safer ones. But that was not the case, years back. You had to place a boiling ring in a container of water and manually switch it off and unplug it when the water boiled.
One day we had a ring boiler plugged into a socket and put into a plastic jug of water. One thing led to another and the jug of water was forgotten. The water got boiled and as is expected, the water started to evaporate. The longer the water boiled the more the water level in the jug dropped. Soon the water had dropped below the boiler and the jug began to melt. The jug had melted before our attention was drawn to the smell of burning plastic. We were able to unplug the boiler before disaster struck. If we hadn’t taken action at the time we did, I can imagine the hot boiler on the rug, that could have easily led to a house fire.
Fire outbreaks happen from time to time. Over and over, we hear of marketplaces on fire and people’s goods being destroyed. We have heard of car accidents where the car caught fire and lives are lost. Some other times, residential buildings get on fire and people die. Fire outbreaks are always disastrous irrespective of what caused them, the damage is always enormous.
Thankfully, firefighters forestall forest fires and fire outbreaks. Sometimes they get there in time and put out the fire early. Sometimes there is a lot of damage before the fire is put out.
There is a very intense fire that should be avoided. This is because firefighters cannot come to the rescue. The fire is unquenchable, it doesn’t kill but rather those who get there are in everlasting torment. It is the fire of hell.
“….it is better for thee to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched; Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9: 43 – 44).
The thing is, you have to run for your life.
After death everyone has only one of two destinies; either eternal life in heaven or eternal damnation in hell.
If asked “Who wants to go to hell?” most people will decline but not accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior is a passive choice to go to hell after death. On the other hand, you can choose eternal life by accepting Jesus, as your personal Lord and savior.
God in his mercy has made a way of escape for us. Accept his love today, and escape the judgment to come. The choice is entirely up to you.
