At the beginning of a new year like this, it is a common practice for many to search out promises from God’s word. Some others will deliberately ask men of God to prophesy into their lives. But despite all such “claimings” and “receiving”, it is surprising that not many people usually get it fulfilled in their lives. The question you may want to ask is “why”?Definitely, from the scripture’s point of view, it is certain that the problem cannot be traced to God. His unchanging word declares that “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19.
Now, the question that may pop into your mind now is “how do I make it work?”
Well, it is important for you to know that God’s promises are CONDITIONAL. The conditions are however not hidden neither are they too high for us to attain.
Deuteronomy 11: 22-28 emphasises that God has all the power to fulfil all His good promises and prophesies to you this year BUT you have to position yourself in the right mood to be an unavoidable recipient of His promise. You make up your mind this year to walk in His ways, obey His words, live for His glory alone and serve Him with all your heart. You will need to look inwards and get rid of everything that offends God. Then repent and forsake all known sin. Remember, if ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). Very importantly, set aside quality time to remind God of what He has said. He honours children that take him by His word. As you pray in faith, God will hasten His words (promises) to perform it in your life. Jeremiah 1:12.
